A Bit About CHLOU
I'm Stevie, & I'll be your guide for this segment of the tour.
I started CHLOU in January of 2025 after a long & grueling identity crisis that led to a life-altering mental breakdown. Tired of people pleasing & hiding behind my self-induced shame, I decided to say "f*ck it" & see what would happen if I started "putting myself out there".
I've always been personable, witty, & creative with a passion for the arts, so CHLOU began as the brand umbrella for all my creative outlets (art, writing, & entertaining). Unclear, with no focus, the loose concept of an all-encompassing "me" brand proved to be overwhelming & not at all what I wanted. I love writing, & I will continue doing so, but my passion for art, & more importantly, my passion for people supersedes all else. I thrive in connection & find people fascinating, each having their own deep, twisted stories & reasons for creating just like me. Art tells a story, & I LOVE TO READ. But I don't just want the art. I want to understand the creator.
Throughout my time, I've come across & known many other artists who struggle with the same challenges as I: imposter syndrome, fear of being disliked & misunderstood, yet somehow compelled to continue creating. I've connected with these people on a level beyond the art, relating in a more personal & primal way, causing me to place value in vulnerability. Behind the art, whether you like it or not, is a person who wakes up, gets dressed, & experiences whatever the world puts in front of them every day just like the rest of us. There is inherent beauty in the things they create, as it tells their story.
So, here we are...
CHLOU is carefully crafting a network of incredibly talented artists who are willing to share their stories & inspirations with collectors who want to connect. Each artist has a Chloset, curated to showcase their daily lives, specifically inspired by the things they do, the things they wear, & the colours that speak to them. Through this concept, our intention is to nurture connection & relatability among creators & collectors, while providing quality products designed for life.
CHLOU is not just an art gallerie, it's an artist gallerie. Art is subjective. You may see the beauty, you may not. But the creators on CHLOU certainly won't leave you begging the question. In taking the time to know & understand them on a more personal level, their work will be viewed & valued in a deeper sense.
